How would you handle this facebook problem?

When my wife and I were aulted by her familly we got angry an post our emotions about the ault on facebook. Now one of the attackers wants to attend our SDA church(he was a past member). we have a TRO but he got a religious exemption. Now the head elder of the church said we we wrong in posting our anger and frustrations over the aults and has made members scared to come to church. Were we wrong or is it wrong for the elder to scold us like that?
