I'd love a rare kitten. Is there any breeders out there that will let me buy one?

I would love to buy a Cornish or Devon Rex kitten or a sphynx kitten for myself but i am worried breeders won't sell me one because i have a 3 year old son. Even though he is used to animals and is quite gentle im nervous of contacting breeders in case they all say no. Am i being paranoid? Does anyone know a UK breeder who doesn't follow this rule? I would love the kitten like it was my own baby.
