Should we sacrifice safety for political correctness?

I'm sick and tired of political correctness. It serves no purpose anymore. It doesn't prevent people from being racist, it only prevents the government from doing anything ABOUT racism. I'm sick of the way Islam criticizes Europe and America all day long, preaching about how evil it is, preaching that Allah will take over it, yatta yatta. And yet, nobody can say, hey, this is wrong, because it's not politically correct. It especially bugs me how our own safety and security is affected. Would you rather die in a plane crash because you didn't want to hurt the Muslim's feelings by searching him? I seriously believe that the attacks in Moscow, Madrid, London, Paris and New York could have been prevented if we STOP our stupid political correctness.
