Would the Tories have handled the UK economy, and subsequently the world financial system, better than labour?

Was it Gordon's very liberal outlook on The City which helped lead to this crisis? if the conservatives had been in power, would it have happened. in addition, if it had happened, would they have implemented the same, and admittedly internationally praised, financial stimulus plan as Mr Brown?
