Iguana's tail fell of! HELP!!!!!!?

I got an iguana from a friend and when I got him he had a cut on his tail, I treated the cut and it seemed to be healing. Today I went to clean his cage and his tail had fallen off!!! I need help!! I don't know whether to be worried or if he will be fine!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
