How can i be less condescending towards kids at school?

i act like that towards the ones who act stupid, but i really cannot help it. it's just part of my nature which i know is no excuse. i'm trying to be a little nicer and practice humility. it's not that i have something up my a$$ it's just the way i am by nature. but i'm trying to change. how should i start?

I am a 17 year old male living in Michigan, with a younger brother who is 13. Our parents are divorced, and my mother has recently made the decision to move to Tennessee with her boyfriend, as she has been unemployed for nearly one full year now, and her job has been terminated. I am currently finishing up my junior year in high school, and she wants to move in the summer some time, in June or July. Her main focal point for me moving is that I could receive a Hope Scholarship simply for going to high school there, 4,000 dollars a year off of college tuition for four years. Are there any similar scholarships I should research in Michigan? And what are some places I could apply for them, simply to show her that I don't need to sacrifice my senior year of high school for a scholarship, when there are more out there..if there are. When this school year is over, I'll have a 3.5 gpa and a 29 on the act. My mother made 18,000 dollars last year, and she holds majority custody of me and my brother. Is there any way that I could also live with someone who is not one of my parents, legally, for my senior year? All I really would like to do is finish, and it is rather selfish I know. Ive been playing bball since i was 5 an i loved it. Then in 6th grade i joined a travel team and i started hating bball and it made my life miserable. We had a tournament each week in a different part of the state i live in and we had practice 3 days a week for a total of 7 and 1/2 hours a week. I wanted to quite and went through a lot of drama with my parents and finally decided to play. I did it again in 7th and quite the team and went to a new one. Although this team is less of a comitment i dont want to play on it and i dislike the coach. She is my middle school coach though and i fearif i quit this team shell either not put me on the ms team or hate me and not play me. I still have a good relationship with my old coach but i dont want to go back to him. I cry every night before practice and my parents make up excuses like excersices just in a gym every night is not going to be enough for keeping you thin and in shape and also that the girls on my team will hate me and i won't have any friends. I don't beleive any of these and it makes me feel like there making up excuses. When ever i try to tell them how i feel they say i need to give one more year of travel if i want to playhs bball but i dont want to! I agree with Brandon; a character's name is a manifestation of who they are as a person. People in real life tend to live up to their names. My advice for names is just to look up things in Writer's Digest they have things for that. I read also in David Marshall's Book to Novel Writing that you should stay with names that don't have an 's' at the end of the name. It makes for awkward possession. You also want to be able to pronounce these names with ease; dont include them if you can't see them in a real life conversation.

Why do i have pain in my left testicle?

I went downstairs yesterday to put something away, and i was standing there cleaning one dish, and suddenly my left testicle starts throbbing with that dull ache, that goes into your stomach. I'm sure anyone who has been kicked in the crotch will know the pain well. The problem is, i didn't do anything. I limped myself upstairs, and laid down. If i didn't more for long periods of time, the pain dulled, but the second i moved again, it would come right back. I tried taking some vicodin (pain realiver), and soma (muscle relaxer) that i had for my back, to see if it would relieve the pain, but it didn't do anything. So then i took 4 motrin, and a tramadol (another pain reliever). This helped. It allowed me to get some sleep, but it is still sore. The pain is a lot better, but i still have to be careful, because it is very sensitive. I went feeling around last night, and i didn't feel anything extra, but my left testicle was very sore, and sensitive to the touch. The other one seems fine, no problems on the right side. Any ideas why this happened? I'm 21 years old, and this has happened once or twice before, but it either goes away in a few hours, or a few days. Any ideas? And please, no jokes, this is a serious problem.

Tips to getting low notes on an Alto Saxophone out?

I play an Alto Saxophone in Band. I used to play the Tenor, but due to lack of Alto's, I had to switch back. My Alto isn't in perfect shape, and my reed probably isn't the best "#" for my specific model of Alto (not sure exactly what model it is), so both of those might contribute to my troubles playing lower notes, even below "G". I've heard about raising the Saxophone off of a support to allow the reed to vibrate more, and I'm already using a lot of air - any more would blast out the notes. One song that we are working on demands a low C-Sharp to be played very soft/quiet-like, and that's pretty much impossible for me. Any tips?

Period. If he is a good Dad he will realize this and stop and if he gets mad that is his problem not yours. If he gets in trouble he deserves it. Adults DO NOT hurt kids. Your Dad needs help to control his anger and he will only get it if made to. Tell a counselor at school. NOW! OR tell a priest of NUN or go to the Police station. I do not care just tell an adult and tell someone who will isten. Tell them about being pregnant too. This problem is not going to go away and you are too young to deal with it alone. People make mistakes but it does not make you a bad person. We all make mistakes. So instead of putting it off and waiting you need to deal with it now. Personally, I do not believe that you HAVE to deworm or use flea control on each cat, simply because just by being outside, they're going to get worms and fleas again as soon as the meds wear off. It's fighting a losing battle. Spaying and neutering them is absolutely wonderful of you to do, and that goes above and beyond what most people are willing to do for a stray animal! Ignore half of what PETA says because...well...generally they're kind of crazy people who are 'all or nothing' and will fault you for not doing it all. What you're doing is great. As long as you don't have to miss rent to do it! And don't worry about flea meds or deworming. I think it's more important for the cats to be neutered than it is for them to have the other meds. So if you can pay for a whole different cat for the cost of the flea/deworming meds, that's so much more important! Keep up the great work!

My "friend" is annoying the CRAP out of me! PLEASE HELP?

When I first came to my school she was probably the nicest person there, she became my friend quickly and we had a good little friendship going. THEN she turned super-b*tch on me, let me explain how. She lies constantly, and not only about little stuff but like really important stuff too. Then when she tells me she is lying she laughs hysterically like it's the best joke in the world and gets pissed when I don't laugh along because it seriously hurts. She has absolutely the worst sense of humor I’ve seen and laughs at stupid childish stuff that’s really more annoying than funny. She is very over-dramatic, with her emotions, with what she says, and even in her movements, she puts a little more emphasis on it than is needed. She teases me about stupid stuff that I messed up on a long time ago that was funny then but not now. She pops up and follows me where I obviously don’t want her. She is very full of herself and thinks she is the greatest thing in the world when she barley has any talent because when she decides to do something she tries it for a bit and gives up because it doesn’t work for her in a snap. (Ex. Like playing the guitar) I try to help her and give her advice but she either ignores me or gets angry at me for trying to help. She tries to give me advice on things that I already know how to do and explains it to me like I am mentally handicapped, and some advice I can tell before even attempting it is simply horrible and seems almost intentional to make me look like a fool, and if I tell her she is giving bad advice she gets mad and starts cursing at me then apologizes a day later. When I playfully poke at her for the wrong stuff she does, she gets mad and either threatens me or starts telling me off. What makes it even worse is that she is friends with all my other friends. Plus if I was witty enough to try and tell her I don’t want to be friends she’d go about spilling my secrets to everyone. (She learned these secrets when she was a “good” friend) One story I feel I should share, like very lately she’s been teasing me about the guy I like and it’s like and when I get angry at her for doing it she gets an innocent face and is like “I’m not teasing that you like him! Why are so mad? I didn’t do anything!” Plus when she apologizes she just does it so well that you just have to accept it. My young cat died very suddenly yesterday. Did my dog do it?

It was probably just a sad coincidence. I cannot think of a way that a dog could kill the cat without injuring the cat in a noticeable way. The cat could die from internal things, but for it to be that hurt there would also be external signs. The dog may have helped the cat get into something by opening it, but if you see no signs of that either chances are your cat's death had nothing to do with the dog. If you really want to know, talk to your vet and see if you can have the cat examined. This may be expensive, and it won't bring him back.

I just can't decide on my WEDDING COLORS?? :-( please help?

I can never decide what colors I like, I've gone back and forth so many times and everyone always says they like different things. I need help and some opinions please. We are getting married in early April 2011, indoor wedding... I absolutely do not want the traditional purple, pink, blue, yellow, or orange.... which basically just leaves the dark colors which everyone tells me I can't use in a spring wedding. I've always liked the idea of Champagne bridesmaids dresses.. but I can't decided on a good color to compliment it because I don't just want champagne and white, I thought champagne and burgundy red (like roses) but I'm not thrilled with that idea either... so now I'm considering a sage or olive green color for the brides maids dresses with the flowers being white with a little bit of dark purple which may look good with the guys in their black tuxes... but I don't know if I'm thrilled with that either.. How do I feel full without eating too much. (my story included)?

I weigh around 195lbs and I'm about 6 ft. I run at least 3 miles a day after school during practice. Play tennis and sometimes hit the gym on the weekends. I'm finding it real difficult to lose any weight during this process. I've managed to stabilize my weight at 195ish, but once tennis season ends I fear I might start putting on pounds again. The only time I actually lost a bit of weight was during the summer when I vacationed in the Philippines where it's upper 90s and humid everyday. I boxed at their gyms (which have no air conditioning) for 2 hours a day for about a month. I lost about 20 lbs. Now I'm back in Indiana, and there's no boxing gyms, and the cold weather doesn't help with workouts. I spend a good 2-4 hours a day working out and I still don't lose any weight. I've concluded that if I'm able to find a method to feel fuller without eating as much I will be able to cut down some fat. My dieting skills aren't that great, I love to eat and try to exercise to make up for it. I just can't put anymore time to work out in my schedule. If someone can come up with a good working plan, I'd be glad to give them 10 points. Thanks a bunch =D

Break out in rash after being out in intense heat/sun?

Ever since we hit the summer months over here in Iraq (apr+) every time I go outside in PT uniform (shorts and a tshirt) I break out in an extensive rash on both arms and legs where the skin is exposed. I went to the Army doc who claimed it was eczema but, the eczema regimen they prescribed doesn't help the condition at all, besides I've never heard of eczema suddenly appearing after sun exposure? Plus my skin isn't dry. The rash seems to be spreading like wildfire, and I dont have the time or patience to go back to the army doc who will just tell me to bugger off. Zinc Oxide helps a bit, but its rather difficult getting it out here, anyone have suggestions on what it can possibly be and a good method to get rid of it? I know for a fact it is not sand fleas.

Wondering if my lab puppy has incontinence or just misbehaving?

My 8 month old lab puppy has now peed on my bed three times. The first time was roughly when she was about 4 months old and I was watching a friends dog and I thought she must be jealous and was punishing me. Then last week she did it again but that night we cut her nails and she hates that. Now today she was laying next to me and I noticed it was wet and when she stood up there was yet another spot and today I had to throw one of her toys away cause it was broken open. So I am wondering cause she doesn't do this anywhere else but in our bed if she is misbehaving and trying to tell us she is upset with us or if she truly may have a problem. She isn't drinking lots of liquid or acting like she has a bladder infection it just seems like maybe it isn't a medical problem but more of a misbehaving puppy problem. Why does Command & Conquer 3, Tiberian Wars on PC disconnect while playing online?

I've been playing online matches both custom & automatch for the past few months. But beginning of last week, the game disconnects. It says one or more player is attempting to cirvent the rules etc by leaving the game midway. I have no option either to select quit or kick the opponent, and I win each match. It seems to happen with each and every online game. I don't like to win this way. I changed over my broadband modem/router and replaced it with another, still it happens. I am with iinet on a ADSL plan. Nothing has changed in my equipment setup, no cordless phones, same PC. It also does that on another PC and disconnects. I have reinstalled the game, and patched it with version 1.09. Is the EA server in USA all stuffed up? This is a great game but I am really puzzelled. Does anyone experience the same problem? Would you ever give your pet to a better home?

That's a really tough one because I don't think anyone could give my animals a better home...nobody! Now if it were a situation where I was unable to care for them or a medical reason I couldn't care for them it would kill me but I would not keep them selfishly. It would be very hard for me to find that "better" home but I would be relentless in doing so to make sure my animals got the very best. I don't foster because I would keep them all.....I hold a high regard to those that can. I do and have adopted and do rescue but I only keep what will be with me for a lifetime. Is my inhaler ineffective?

My doctor said my illness would get over in a week. I was sick for one month as well as coughing for one month. I have been taking an inhaler for a week since last week. Basically I've been taking it since last Wednesday April 20, 2011. I have been taking it for a few days and I don't feel the affects of it that much any more. I mean usually when I take it I hold my breath so that it settles in my lungs, after I exhale and breathe normally I can breathe the medicine like taste the medicine in my lungs if you know what I mean. Now I take it and I don't feel the medicine in my lungs. And I take it and the dose seems less. I twisted the medicine capsule just to see If the inside of the inhaler was dirty, twisted it back in now it seems like the dosage is different even though it is a fixed amount. The thing is dairy and spicy things make me have have mucus/metal/blood like taste in my throat. I stopped coughing for a while. Then this morning I started coughing high pitched and have the mucus/blood/metal taste while/when I am coughing. Is this a morning thing, or like a relapse. I used to cough more in the evening, now I think this morning I started coughing.Oh and can the steroids in the albeuterol cut up your lips, or are they dry. I have this cut in my upper inside lip. I never did anything to cut it.

Pay Day Loan, what can the police do?

Last year when I was really struggling to pay my outgoings and my car had problems I had to take out Pay Day loan from a local shop. I payed it off and took 2 more loans out paying both of them off too. I then took a final loan of �300, at the same time I had to move because I couldn't afford where I was living. I pretty much forgot about the loan and subsequently failed to pay it back. I haven't heard anything since but today had a visit from 2 POLICE officers! Claiming an allegation had been made regarding the loan. I have to go to the police station in a weeks time to be interviewed under caution. Is this normal for a loan? I have never heard of the police being called regarding an unpaid loan. I'm concerned also that the Loan shop may have contacts within the police. Does any one have any suggestions regarding this situation. I am now debt free bar this loan and could clear the loan if absolutely necessary, but am unsure if doing this would affect the case in any way.

How can I get my two guinea pigs to stop fighting?

I've had two male guinea pigs for about 3 years now. They are both approximately the same age, one is slightly younger, maybe by about six months or so. We bought the older one first but realized he was getting a bit lonely, so we went and got another baby male. For a while they got along great, they would cuddle up together at night and play together in their grazing ark. But when the younger piggy reached one year old, they started fighting aggressively and blood was shed. We bought separate hutches and they've been like that for two years now, would it be possible to re-introduce them to one another? If so, what would be the best way to do this? They're both looking very sad and lonely, it would be great if they could live together again. I'm willing to do whatever it takes.

Good Song for Crucible Project?

The title says it all really. I'm doing a final for school on Arthur Miller's The Crucible, and I need some good background music. Poem advice and feedback please :)?

This is a decent poem but it really doesn't much remind me of Emily Bronte. Your emotions are all over the place in this poem. In the first verse you seem aggitated, next it's dark and scary sounding but you are all of a sudden super happy, then you are completely at ease and in the last verse you now like the animals.... with no explanation as to how, what or why. You covered the when and where pretty well though so good job there. I think you need a second verse that explains why you went from bothersome to happy or change the fourth line in the first verse to be more positive sounding rather than bothered by the toads and birds.

I have gone to the normal doctor twice. first time he told me 'take stuffed" and told me that i have sinuses. then i waited 2 weeks and nothing got any better. so i went back again and another doc told me "take this nasal spray with this antibiotic and buy some mucinex D." so i took it. there was SLIGHT improvement but not really much. now every time i swallow, i hear something like a pop and every time i move my jaw i hear something like a puff of air and crackling. my dad says he wants to schedule again but i doubt it would even make a difference and that they would say the same thing "nothing wrong with my ears and they look clean. but I think it's whats behind my eardrum or deeper in my ear that makes my ear seem stuffed. i heard ear specialists have the tools to go behind the eardrum or something and they will thoroughly clean my ears out. so my question is should waste my time on another doc or should i just go to a specialist? i'm hoping it wont cost too much.

The plumbers snake does have a "saw" attachment that can cut through roots. But if your problem is a root through the drain line you have bigger problems than a clog. Consider getting a visual inspection. Some plumbers carry a fiber optic camera system they can snake through the drain and look at what the problem is. If you have done this and KNOW that roots are the problem, the ultimate solution is to have the section of drain replaced.
